SPECIAL EDITION - WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL 2008-09
2809 Lincoln Way NW, Massillon OH 44647

New Computers!!! Jana Seifert, fourth grade student, gets a sneak preview of the new Apple computers hooked up and waiting for the first day of school. Our computer lab was completely redone with brand new, Apple I-Mac 21 inch flat screen computers. This purchase was funded entirely by the proceeds generated from this year's school auction. A special thank you to all parents, staff and friends who gave willingly of their time and effort to make this year's Auction of Treasures a huge success!
Check out the new computer lab during Open House hours, Friday, August 22 from 10am - 1pm and 5pm - 7pm.

What a neat sight (site)!! If you haven't checked out Phase One of our playground renovation, you need to do so. Over thirty volunteers comprised of parents, parishioners and friends of SBS gave of their time and talent on August 2 and 3, some working as many as 13 hours, to help with the installation. To date our investment amounts to just over $22,000, most of which, due to the volunteer help, was put into equipment. Solicitation for Phase Two funding is already under way and we hope that you too will consider supporting this major improvement program. More information on donating to Phase Two will be included with the September newsletter.
A few changes and items of interest are included in this special edition of our monthly newsletter!!

School Uniform Questions Surface
At this time of year we often receive questions regarding proper school attire. Shorts, as illustrated in the LandsEnd catalog, can be worn through October 15 th . Preferred style: Uniform Pleated Front or Plain Front Blend Chino Short. Also acceptable is the LandsEnd Uniform Cargo Pocket Shorts. Please note that these cargo style shorts have a neat appearance so discretion should be used when shopping at other stores. For a close up look, visit their website at : www.school@landsend.com Not acceptable will be athletic shorts such as their Twill Sport Shorts. If you have any questions please call Mr. Otte.
Uniform Recycling Center We have a lot of used uniform pieces for resale at the school. It has been organized and is very nicely displayed thanks to the efforts of Mrs. Linda Litman. If you would like to donate any items not needed any longer or if you are in need of some uniforms, please stop by the school Monday thru Friday between 8a.m. and 3p.m. These items are very reasonably priced and all proceeds will go toward Phase 2 of our playground.
