Character Counts.... This school year the students have focused their attention on six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. During November we placed special emphasis on Citizenship and developed this trait by helping the needy, visiting residents in nearby nursing homes, and donating to the local humane society. Pictured below is the bulletin board in our main hallway which lists the many ways in which students have practiced good citizenship. Student Council also recognized students who gave evidence by their behavior that character traits need to be developed and demonstrated for everyone to see. For the remaining months of this school year both teachers and members of Student Council will continue to be on the lookout for students showing by their actions that “Character Counts” .
